Getting here is easier than it looks
The canyon sits in the Sierra del Fraile, 3 km from the town of Hidalgo and about 60 km from Monterrey. From the airport it is roughly an hour.
We run the transfer: $1,960 MXN one way or $3,530 round trip. For groups there is a round trip for up to 15 people at $5,200. Book it in advance; it covers airport to La Posada only. If you are flying in with gear and no car, it is the simplest way.
About 45 minutes from downtown Monterrey, around 50 from San Pedro. An hour and a half from Saltillo. About three hours from Laredo, Texas. Parking on site is free.
Hidalgo is a quiet town 3 km from the canyon, with shops and basic services. Worth a stop if you plan to cook during your stay.
Check-in at 2 pm and check-out at 12. The gate closes at 9 at night and opens at 7 in the morning, so plan to arrive before then.
